Using a Bread Machine
Just how easy is it to make fresh bread with a bread machine? All you do is add the ingredients in the order recommended by the recipe or machine manufacturer and press a few buttons.

To achieve maximum - and consistent - success with your bread machine, always follow these 5 important steps:

  • Read the owner’s manual thoroughly.
  • Study the key features of your machine.
  • Understand the various cycles and functions.
  • Be sure components are assembled correctly.
  • Read manufacturer’s tips for your machine.
  • Read the recipe carefully.
  • Select appropriate loaf size for your machine.
  • Have correct ingredient amounts needed for loaf size.
  • Select the best ingredients available.
  • Store ingredients properly before using them.
  • Bring ingredients (except eggs) to room temperature before using them.
  • When measuring dry ingredients, use standard measuring cups designed for dry ingredients.
  • To measure flour:
    - Use 1-cup measure.
    - Lightly spoon flour into cup.
    - Fill cup slightly above rim.
    - Use spatula or straight edge to sweep excess flour off.
    - Make sure flour is now even with rim of cup.
  • Follow above steps for measuring all dry ingredients.
  • For liquid ingredients, use transparent glass or plastic cups designed for liquid measures.
  • Be sure to check measurement at eye level.
  • Keep yeast separate from the liquids, fat and salt.
  • Add ingredients in order stated in recipe.
